Drummer Boy

I played drums in church yesterday...it has been about 2 years since i played drums in anything. The last being in CF...that was when i was still music director...and had to stand in as an emergency for seong who had his gums bleeding mysteriously.

The last time i played drums in my youth fellowship years ago, it wasn't that good...a drummer in my church told me quite frankly...to forget it...coz it sucked to the max...in his opinion...

talk about affirmation...

no wonder i still feel like an outcast...hmm...i still remember the words and air of judgemental, self righteous people who surrounded me in the past...but that's d past..

it was fun, to actually play drums in church for the first time...playin a lot wif VJ and listenin to loads of music has helped me to groove in my head...the tricky part was translating it into my hands and legs..which were stiff and disobedient to this guitarist,..remember, i haven't been playin for any session at all for years...I was just there because there was a need...to be filled...to help out..d drummers in church were on leave...

i thank God that I'm still servin in my local and unassuming church...this wouln't have happened in a mega church..though I did envy the exposure their museos were getting...

earlier in the day. i told myself...i'm only good for one thing...playing 'instruments'...that's the only time i'm asked to be involved...or when they need 'help'...

didn't know it will turn out to be true literally...jason playin drums...what on earth??? LOL....how did it go? Nervous...but i didn't screw up for any of the 8 songs...i didn't lose my timing...the rolls were 'skema' and simple...it was ok i guess for a 'stand-in drummer' like me...

it gave me great joy...to serve...and be understood and affirmed by my Father...

affirmation is a need...not a want...
