Basically i am helping at a new stall...which offers western dishes like chicken chop, fish and chips, etc....my job includes opening the stall at around 5pm, preparing the sauces and salad, heating up the pots and frying pan, washing the utensils and doing some light cooking while waiting for the chef to come. Normally the crowd starts coming in at 7pm onwards. Then i have to take orders, prepare the dishes, serve the dishes, and communicate with the customers...basically it's giving service to people. After all that, the cleaning is the one that really tires me out...washing the dishes and utensils of all the oil and grease really makes you super dirty and smelly. My work ends around 11pm.
Basically the pay is ok, but i am training myself to learn initiative and what it takes to serve people and work.
I have realised that working has its challenges. Although part time, i am constantly challenged in my integrity. People who order the dishes do not know how the dishes are prepared, whether it is clean or fresh...whether the raw meat was handled properly. Sometimes i feel that the only goal is to gain profit...regardless of how we achieve it. Eventhough it is dirty or dishonest. I hope that when it is time for me to work, i can be an honest person...sometimes i feel that having character will give you the strength to go the extra mile.
Another highlight of the past week was a gig that PG165 played in.

Justyne(our friend) was part of an organizing committee in a charity dinner that was organized by combined catholic churches to raise money for orphans. My band was given a chance to play here. It was held in some chinese hall. Nevertheless, Zhen Xin and Deric made an effort to come down for one week to practice. We had some rehearsals at God's Garage in Gateway. We rehearsed 9 songs in 5 days. Come to think of it, that's quite a feat...i mean 9 songs is kinda a lot. But more than the songs, we just enjoyed the jamming and the gelling of friends.

Song List...
Overall, I think we played ok, but i guess we needed more practice to play tighter cause there were some glitches here and there. My favourite song was the one by Lifehouse entitled 'Everything'...i think that song rocks. We had to play with much restraint because the charity dinner was attended by some elderly folks...and we could play really loud if we wanted to. I enjoyed the experience very much. I am looking forward to playing in more gigs...hopefully we get the oppurtunity to play in one coming this June...

setting up the gear...
I had a great week hanging out with PG165...with all the swimming and the eating and the lepaking. was a good week.
